  • Fantasia

    American Idols Season 3 winner, Fantasia, has had a life full of high notes and low notes and she will be sharing it all with her fans in the upcoming docu-series Fantasia for Real.

    Fantasia for Real is scheduled to premiere on January 11, 2010, and the series will provide viewers with a close-up view into the complex, touching, and relatable life of the American Idol winner. The show will give us all a glimpse of how Fantasia manages to juggle her career and being a single mother, and on top of it all shes working on her highly anticipated third album.

    Just six years ago, Fantasia was a young single mother from High Point, North Carolina. The church choir singer decided to try out for American idol on a whim, and America fell in love with her voice. Now, with 8 Grammy Award nominations under her belt, Fantasias life has changed dramatically. Fantasias debut album, Free Yourself, went platinum and had success on the charts. In 2006, Fantasia gave an initial glimpse at her rocky life through her autobiography Life Is Not a Fairy Tale, which later was turned into a TV movie. Over the past several years, Fantasia found success starring as Celie in the Broadway musical The Color Purple. Oprah Winfrey cast Fantasia to play Celie in the film adaptation of The Color Purple, which is scheduled to being production after the completion of Fantasia's third album.

  • Kris and Allison to Perform on FOX

    Season 8s winner and top female, Kris Allen and Allison Iraheta, will perform live on BILLBOARDS NEW YEARS EVE LIVE airing Thursday, Dec. 31 from 11:00 PM to 12:30 AM on FOX.     Carmen Electra will host a New Years Eve to remember as she celebrates the biggest night of the year in a coast-to-coast television event. FOX cameras will capture every electrifying moment from Las Vegas and the heart of New York City as the world-famous New Years Eve Ball makes its descent into Times Square. The New Years celebration will showcase some of the most memorable moments from the historic Billboard Music Awards, and will count down the Top 5 of the year in music, movies, and television.

  • Nigel Lythgoe Discusses Carrie

    Nigel Lythgoe, who is the Executive Producer and Co-Director of the Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special, revealed details of the TV special on a recent press call.

    The Carrie Underwood holiday special came about pretty naturally. I think its something that FOX always wanted, Nigel admitted. Were all Carrie Underwood fans. The whole show, I think, goes back to the old variety days, but with a modern spin. Its delightful, I must say, for the holiday period.

    As the former Executive Producer of American Idol, Nigel has known Carrie for a while, even back before she was the star she is today. Nigel mentioned that during auditions, We always had titles for people so wed remember them. She was called Farm Girl. Though she may have come from a small town, Carrie is now a big star. What shes developed into is an out-and-out true star, Nigel boasted. As youll see on this special, its not just about her singing, its about her comedy timing and everything else. She just handles herself as though shes been in the business for 20 years and not the 4 or 5 that shes been in now. This truly is watching somebodys journey grow in the public spotlight.

    Nigel gave a few hints at what the show will incorporate. Were including Carries family in it and characters on the side of the stage, so as she walks offstage she goes into another situation.   • Kris and Adam to Perform on SYTYCD

    Season 8s winner and runner-up, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert, will perform on upcoming episodes of FOXs So You Think You Can Dance. On Wednesday, December 9 (8:00 9:00 PM), Kris will take the SYTYCD stage during the live results show to perform his single, Live Like Were Dying. This song is Kris first single off his self-titled album; it has received rave reviews and is currently climbing the U.S. radio charts.

    Adam Lambert will perform on the live season finale of So You Think You Can Dance on Wednesday, December 16 (8:00 10:00PM). He will perform his latest single, Whataya Want From Me, off his debut album, For Your Entertainment. This will be Adams first performance on FOX since the American Idol season finale in May. For Your Entertainment debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Charts with 198,469 albums sold in the first week.

    Currently, both Kris and Adam are up for Peoples Choice Awards. Voting ends tomorrow, December 8, so be sure to vote for them!

  • Bucky Covington's Music Video Climbs Charts

    Bucky Covingtons new music video for his current rising single, Gotta Be Somebody, recently made its debut on Great American Countrys fan-voted Top 20 Countdown. Directed by Devin Pense, this high-energy, live video spotlights his hometown community of Rockingham, NC.Filmed in the local town square during Buckys recent homecoming concert, the video features a packed crowd of over 6,000 fans, friends and family who all roared with excitement to be a part of this surprise video shoot. "Gotta Be Somebody" can also be viewed at various online outlets.

    Bucky Covingtons latest single, Gotta Be Somebody, is a country style version of the Nickelback smash written by band members Chad Kroeger and Ryan Peake, along with co-producer Joey Moi.Currently climbing the country charts, this song is from his upcoming sophomore album, Im Alright, which will become available in the spring of 2010. Currently, Bucky is on the road playing shows all across the country and will be performing in San Diego, CA on December 11 and 12.
